Adopted Into His Story And Into History

Rahab’s actions aligned with Gods will. She obeyed her heart and was used in his ultimate plan! You see, when God created the Earth, he also created in us a mind. God has an ultimate plan for each of us but we also have been given the ability to choose. He wants us all adopted into His story. There are countless stories in the bible about men and women used by God to fulfill great things.

God’s Ultimate Plan

Although these men and women were not perfect, and in most of the cases made terrible choices, God still pursues them, is gracious to them, blesses their obedience, and fulfills his plan of the Gospel!

Gospel: The Good News that Jesus Christ was the ultimate sacrifice, died on the cross and rose from the dead to claim power over sin and death once and for all. Providing a way for all to be saved and join Him in heaven!

More Heroes Adopted By God

Rahab’s actions and faith were so detrimental to God’s plan that she was also mentioned among some amazing bible heroes. Hebrews chapter 11 shows many examples of great faith stories of others that have been adopted into His story. I encourage you to read each one at some point and study them. Here are some ideas for going deeper!

David – 2 Samuel 2:11-12

Although David was a sinner, he was called “A man after God’s own heart.” Find out what kind of man David was and learn how much God loved him and protected him from his enemies.

Paul – Acts 8: 1 and 3

Paul Persecuted and killed Christians, but God loved him and pursued him. Read his story and find out how God turned his life completely around to help with spreading the Gospel.

Moses – Exodus 2:11

Moses murdered a man and ran to hide! However, he couldn’t hide from God. The Lord called Moses, forgave him, and used him to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt. Moses also performed many miracles through God along the way. Leading up to the story of Rahab!

For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin so that we could be made right with God through Christ 2 Corinthians 5:21

But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Romans 5:8
